Domain selection – 5 Tips for choosing a domain name

The domain name is a very important part of your website. The careful selection and keywording of your domain name is one of the most crucial part of the initial steps in setting up any website. Here are the 5 tips for choosing a domain name.

1.Buy shorter domain name:- It is always better to choose a shorter domain name for your website. Shorter names are also easier to remember than long names or phrases. Choose something that would make you click on if for further information.

2.Keyword inside:- It is better to add your keywords in your domain name. This is because many people look for websites using keywords. Having keywords separated by dashes in your main domain will help you in getting traffic through organic search results. If you want your site to be ranked high by the search engines then it makes a huge difference if your main keyword is in your domain name.

3..com is the best:- .com is always the best extension to have, if people can't remember what is , that is the one they will try. Buy the others as well if they are available and redirect them to the .com. There have been rumors that the extensions other than .net, .com or .org , have less weight with search engines.

4.Expired domains:- You can look up expired domains that are either short, have good names, have keywords, or have back links. These domains can be like gold because the past owners may have put in a great deal of effort in getting web traffic. These types of domains should be considered if you already have an existing domain name. The price tag is usually a lot higher than a brand new domain name.

5.Put up a parking page:- After you buy a domain, immediately put up a parking page with keywords and some inbound links. Even if you don’t intend to use the domain for several months, aged domains have more value and legitimacy to search engines. You want a portfolio of domain names that is aged like fine wine. This way, when you start new projects, it will seem like the sites have been up for months or years and have just gained popularity and content.

Make Your Domains Work for You

More and more people are entering the world wide web, and it is becoming increasingly harder and harder to come up with a great domain name, especially with a “dot com“ at the end of it. If you go to such sites as Go Daddy, and try out your creative website name in a search, you will be amazed at how many times the search will come back "This name already taken". You have to really start thinking through your domain names.

For a great website, you need to start with at least an idea of what the website will be about, then come up with a great domain name. Think of some great niche's, think of the everyday things you do, and keep a notepad with you, just in case you come up with lots of great inspiring ideas. You could have a flash of brilliant ideas at work, only to lose them somewhere between your boss driving you nuts and coffee break, so write them down!

Once you have these great ideas for websites, get on your computer right away, and register those inspiring domain names, even if you have not got the time to start the actual website, at least you will have the name registered to you.

If down the road, you decide you don't want that name anymore, you can always sell it. But if you want your domain names to be working for you, at least while you think of a great website, there are sites that will let you "park" your domain name and possibly make some money in advertising.

If you are one of those creative people, who have come up with many domain names and have them registered, waiting for the day you get that great website going, at least make them working domains, and cash in on some advertising money while you wait. This is also a great way to find out, how inspiring those domain names really are. Take a look at any of the domain registry sites, and see about the domain parking possibilities for your future money making sites. There is usually a monthly fee, but if you have lots of inspiring domain names out there, it might be worth it.

Overseas Investing

With recent downward trends in the property market, many have given up thinking about property as a means of investment. However despite troubled times some still believe that property investments should not be written off as the answer lies in looking at investing in property overseas as a viable and safer alternative to diversify that property portfolio until the local markets pick up again.

As an overseas investment, Dubai is unquestionably the city to keep a close eye on. With property prices experiencing considerable growth over the years, and forecast to remain this way for some time, Dubai property, though not completely unaffected from global price variations, still remains a safer way to hedge your property investments. Dubai is a well-balanced and diverse economy, not completely dependent on oil.
Its commercial sector contributes to some 80% of total gross domestic product and is continuing to expand. Manufacturing and tourism account for a large portion of Dubai’s economy, and both areas have been doing phenomenally well with the Dubai currency (Dhiram) remaining confidently stable over the years. The Government strongly encourages the thriving real-estate market and for renting and resale investments, Dubai offers several home financing schemes with reasonable payment terms making many an investor look twice at Dubai property. So if you were thinking of giving up hope of ever investing in property, it might pay to look beyond your boundaries, and research the possibility of investing in overseas property.

Microsoft Dominates The Netbook???

As netbook mania (and sales) took off in 2008, it looked like Linux had a chance to be the netbook OS of choice. That is, until Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT) brought XP out of retirement just for netbooks to use. Now, most netbooks run Windows, and it's likely to stay that way for a while. Still, there are two companies that might pose a threat to Microsoft in the netbook category: Apple and Google.

Let's start with Apple. It doesn't have a netbook yet, and some people think Apple just won't get into this low-end territory. And no, the iPhone is not a netbook. Netbooks have big screens and keyboards, like a notebook. Neither is the MacBook Air; at $900, it's not anywhere close to a competitive netbook price range.

If and when Apple delivers a netbook, two things seem certain: It will be elegant, and it will be expensive. Unlike the iPod and iPhone situation, Apple won't be entering the market with a unique product. The iPod defined its category, and the iPhone introduced the first decent phone-based browser. This time, Apple is up against established players such as Acer, Asus,Dell ( Dell), and Hewlett-Packard (NYSE: HPQ). Apple might grab a chunk of this market, but it's unlikely it will dominate it.

Google (NSDQ: GOOG), on the other hand, could cause Microsoft some trouble. In the same way that Android on phones threatens Windows Mobile, Android on netbooks threatens Windows XP -- and whatever Microsoft designs to follow it. Google might, for example, put its Android operating system and apps store on a netbook.

Android gets high marks for its browsing platform, as does Apple. Microsoft's mobile platform in general, and Internet Explorer in particular, venture into "utter fail" territory. While Internet Explorer on PCs is verging on version 8, Windows Mobile is still saddled with an archaic deviant of IE6. Microsoft just hasn't put in the effort to keep its mobile platform current.

What are the chances that Google could venture into netbook territory? Pretty high. If that article is right, there don't seem to be a lot of technical hurdles. It's more a question of whether Google sees an opportunity in the market. It's not just an opportunity, it's a perfect fit. A tiny and inexpensive netbook is the perfect platform for Google's cloud-based services.

Still, it's hard to count Microsoft out. The company has to retire its XP netbook offering when Windows 7 comes out. Can Windows 7 tame Vista's bloat in order to be an effective netbook OS?

Guide to getting a loan in a credit crunch

It's no secret: getting a loan is more difficult than it used to be. Ever since the sub-prime mortgage crisis sent shockwaves around the global economy, lenders have been keen to protect themselves from taking on any more 'risky' business. As a result, lending criteria is tighter, and interest rates have arguably stayed higher than they would have under normal circumstances.

With that in mind, it pays to make sure you are well prepared before applying for a loan. Here are a few quick tips for improving your chances of getting a loan.

Getting a loan: quick guide

Plan your loan in advance
Before you start, you'll want to make a note of how much money you want to borrow. It's very difficult to work out how much your monthly payments are likely to be on your own, since the interest is often calculated on a daily basis – but there are plenty of 'loan calculators' online which help you to work out a rough amount you will be paying each month, based on the total amount, the repayment period and the interest rate.

Once you've established what your monthly payments will be, it's important to ensure that you are able to afford them over the whole period.

Check your credit history

Making sure your credit history is in the best possible condition is very important. Even if you think you have a shining credit history, it won't hurt to obtain a copy of your credit report and look for anything that has been entered by error, old accounts that have not yet been listed as settled, etc. If your credit history is less-than-perfect, it could be even more important that you iron out any inaccuracies.

You can obtain your credit report from any of the major credit reference agencies – Equifax, Experian and CallCredit.

Get advice from an expert
Going it alone in the search for a loan can be a long process. Unless you're willing to settle for the first loan deal you come across, you'll want to make sure you have access to all the best deals, with as little effort as possible.

That's where an expert loans adviser comes in. Your loans adviser will have access to an extensive panel of lenders, most of whom should offer a number of deals to suit people in various financial situations.

Home Equity Loan – 4 Reasons That You Would Apply For One

There are so many different reasons why people are applying for a home equity loan today that you will lose count after a while. Basically these reasons can be broken down into 4 separate categories: Consolidating Debts, Construction/Repairs, Unexpected Expenses and Schooling. While these may not seem like the most likely or even acceptable of reasons to apply for this loan, they are the most common. The amount of equity in your property depends upon how long you have had the property and what you have already paid into the mortgage.

Consolidating Your Debts

There are many homeowners who will use the money from a home equity loan to consolidate or even pay off a few large outstanding debts in order to get them off of their mind and have a few less monthly payments to have to worry about making… or missing! How much you will be able to pay off and get rid of all depends upon how much equity you have in your property and the amount of money that the lender gives you. You may find yourself in the position of being able to pay off all or almost all of the debts and free up a good bit of your income for other things.

Making Household Repairs

This happens to be one of the reasons at the top of most people’s lists for applying for a home equity loan above all the others. They have decided that they are not going to put off those needed major repairs any longer or have been wanting to put an addition onto their house or build some type out outbuilding (can be used for storage or as a home office). Does your roof finally need replacing, have you decided that you want to change the siding on the house or do those windows really need to be replaced after all the years you have been there? Well, you are not alone; these 3 major repairs are the most common things that get done when you are approved for this type of loan.

Unforeseen (Medical) Expenses

If this is why you are finding yourself applying for a home equity loan, you most certainly are not alone in that reason. A good many homeowners have ended up applying for this loan to help them pay for those unexpected expenses… like having to pay for a hospital stay after surgery or a trip to the Emergency Room for that broken arm. Considering the high cost of medical care today, this is the next most common reason given.

Paying for College

You might be surprised about how many homeowners have actually used the money from their home equity loan to pay for college for their children or themselves. Given the current economical status and the demand for more workers who have a college education or technical school training, is it any wonder that people are using the money given them for this reason? You might too if you have the chance given.

How To Get The Best Car Insurance

The amount spent by many people on their respective car insurance is getting stepper day by day. Also in increasing is the number of companies that are offering car insurances. In fact the number of agencies claiming to be offering the best deals has increased ten folds what what it used to be in the recent past. This makes it very difficult for an individual to settle on any one car insurance easily. There are a lot of deciding factors that come into play when one has to choose for the right car insurance. These factors make sure that the place were we put our money is worth our while.

One most important deciding factor in case of drivers who have been driving for quite some time now is their previous insurance policy record or their credit record. This helps a company to analyze whether or not to award the individual with the policy. This is a very important criteria a it tells about the credibility of the driver and does not put a question ark on whether or not he will be able to pay the money in the future or not. Hence it becomes very important for the applicant to carefully study his or her credit record and then submit it. It is important for him to make sure that all the details about the previous debts and monetary transactions with any money lender is mentioned and that nothing should be hidden. If any anomalies exist then he should get them checked with the specific department and only then submit it to the respective insurance company that he or she is applying into.

One should also make sure that one has done satisfactory comparison of the different deals available in the market. It should be made sure that one has got the best deal. Otherwise there is no meaning of getting a car insurance. It is all about getting the most comprehensive cover possible without paying too much. It is therefore advisable that one goes ahead and invites quotes from various companies. What he should do next do is compare the different deals and choose one that suits him the best.

The driver is also required to make sure that he makes the company know about his specific requirements and also ask for discounts from the company. Such discounts are availed against a good driving record and through many other ways.

Cars And Car Insurance – Do's And Don't's

The value of car insurance that can be availed by an individual depends on a lot of things. The cost of the car being a very important factor other then the location where the car is driven, age and sex of the drier etc. The increase or decrease of the amount required as car insurance will depend on the above amongst some other important points like the type of accessories included in he car etc.

If the car is new and is in a perfectly top of the line line condition then the owner can as well hope to get the best deal possible. This is because the companies are assured that the car has less chances of breaking down initially. This as compared to the old cars is a different story altogether.

The cover that might be extended for older cars can be very less owing to their condition perhaps. In case that a new car is involved in an accident, the driver will be able claimed the money equivalent to the cost of the car itself. The insurance policy also prevents the driver from getting sued . Hence it is better to go for new car insurance in case of a newer car while liability coverage may just only suffice for an old car.

Enhancements made to the car, other than those given by the manufacturer itself also makes it important for people to get insurance cover. This is specially important in case of preventing loss due to theft or other damage being caused such as an untimely fire or damage by other objects etc.

Antique car owners may also go for specialized policies which allows them to have their specific requirements listed and getting the deal tailor made according to their requirements should make it a point to let the insurance agency know of the things that one s looking for in the deal. Otherwise one will be just stuck up with a bad deal altogether. If one wishes to get the best fare it is better to make a thorough study of what is being offered and what is required . This helps in saving untimely hassles later on. These are some of the intelligent points to be kept in mind while going for a insurance policy. Many a times drivers do not pay attention to these important details and then have to face problems later on. It is therefore important to give due weightage to the above mentioned facts.

The Right Auto Insurance

Getting the right and the cheapest possible car insurance is not a very difficult job. In fact one only has to look around in the right places in order to find out the best car policies out there in the market. There are a lot of companies out there which offer different kinds of policies which are often also tailor made according to your needs.

Many car insurance companies offer huge benefits to drivers who have a good driving record. This includes the driving record of the driver. One is required to maintain a highly clean driving record for being eligible to get cheap car insurance. Also drivers who have not put forward the claim of any insurance policy in the past few years has the advantage of eing have to pay much less as compared to others. Drivers who have not been involved in any sort of felony in the past few years also have a certain kind of edge over other driver's.

When an individual has just started his or her driving career, then it may be advisable for them to go for a car which is not too expensive. This will help them save the extra burden on their pockets and also make them able to avail cheaper car insurance. Also , when one has had not made any sort of insurance claim then he or she is liasble to different kinds of benefits from the company. This will save them from paying huge premiums.

Drivers can also not pay extra on their premiums by raising the bar on their deductibles. This will let them pay very small amounts as premium money.Companies also offer benefits on the distance that the car of the driver has travelled. This makes them able to judge wheteher the car is in good shape or not and whether it may require maintenance or not. Insurance companies usually provide cover for virtually anything possible to provide cover on.

They may charge a few extra bucks in the premium money for this purpose but they do provide the cover duly and effectiel. Therefore one need not be worried about his or her car's safety once one has taken the right car insurance for themselves. Cheap car insurance can be sought by first making a desperate attempt to find out a great deal about them. This provides the driver with the oppurtunity of finding out about the various deals availaible and comparing them and then chosing the best.

The tightening credit market and worsening economy are hitting small to midsize businesses perhaps the hardest, and that has the software industry worried that those businesses will sharply curtail IT spending. Enter an incentive that speaks to the times: 0% financing.

Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT) announced Thursday that it's offering 0% financing for 36 months to all new customers of its Dynamics enterprise resource management and customer-relationship management software that spend between $20,000 and $1 million on licenses. Free Software Offers Applicationi Visualization And Combines Diagnostics & Monitoring in One Dashboard
It's the first time Microsoft has offered a global 0% financing promotion for its business applications. In February 2004, Microsoft offered U.S. customers 0% financing for Dynamics. The new promotion is designed to "remove the roadblocks [customers] might see" to purchasing software in the coming months because of the economy, said Craig Dewar, a Microsoft marketing director, in an interview.

Two weeks ago, SAP (NYSE: SAP) global operations CEO Bill McDermott told InformationWeek that SAP would offer 0% financing for some of the company's applications. The financial markets' problems resulted in a "liquidity crisis" for small and midsize businesses, resulting in a sharp decrease in software purchases in the second half of September, McDermott said.

Microsoft's promotion is intended to broaden its customer base, as it's only available to new customers. It's applicable to licensing and first-year enhancements costs, with no down payment required, on Microsoft Dynamics NAV, Microsoft Dynamics AX, Microsoft Dynamics GP, Microsoft Dynamics SL, and Microsoft Dynamics CRM, all of which are aimed at small to midsize businesses.

"We are working closely with our customers and partners to proactively enable them to preserve their capital resources to ride out the current economic situation, while making an important strategic investment in their future," said Kirill Tatarinov, corporate VP of Microsoft business solutions, in a statement.

Expect to see it waved as an enticement at Microsoft's Convergence conference in Copenhagen on Nov. 19, where the company plans to announce new versions of some of its ERP packages aimed at European and global multicurrency/multilanguage customers.

The promotion doesn't include add-on software offerings from Microsoft partners or implementation, partner services, hardware, or customization costs. Such things fall under standard financing rates, Microsoft said.

Best Strategies for Using AdWords to Get Profit

Once you have mastered Google AdWords basics, you can move on to some of the more advanced strategies to optimize your campaigns and improve your ROI. As I mentioned in the previous section, AdWords rewards smart marketers. The more you know about how AdWords works and how to use it to your advantage, the more you’ll be rewarded.

Ideal Bid Position
Many new online advertisers assume that the best position for an ad is at the top (#1 spot). This may be true if your goal is to get the most clicks, but if your goal is to maximize profits, you should consider lower ad positions. The problem with the top ad position is that you will often attract more browsers than buyers. This is because people will often click on the first ad without even reading it. They assume that the first result returned is the most relevant to their search. I refer to this as being “click happy”. When your ad is in a lower position, there is a better chance the user will actually read your ad copy first; instead of indiscriminately clicking on your ad. Another good reason to avoid the top position is that it costs more. In essence, your paying more money for less value. Positions 2-10 cost less money, and often convert much better.

Bid at the Keyword Level
When you’re setting up your campaigns in Google, you create groups of related keywords known as Ad Groups. Each Ad Group has it’s own ad copy, keywords, and maximum cost per click (CPC).
Here is an example of how a Google account is structured:

After you have set a maximum CPC for your Ad Group, you’ll have the option of setting a maximum CPC for individual keywords within the Ad Group. Most advertisers overlook this and use the default maximum CPC for all their keywords. I highly recommend that you specify separate bids for each keyword in your Ad Group. This will allow you to more accurately control your costs, and determine your ROI. To enable separate keyword bids; navigate to the Ad Group, select your keywords, and click on the “Edit Keyword Settings” button.

Update the Search Bid for each of your keywords, and then click the “Save Changes” button. If you don’t specify a bid for a particular keyword, the maximum CPC for the Ad Group will be used. Use Dynamic Keyword Insertion To increase the click-through rate of your ads, I recommend that you use dynamic keyword insertion. When you set up your Ad Groups, you write one ad for an entire group of keywords, as shown in Figure 5.3.2.b. The problem with this is that since you only have one ad, you can’t use your all of your keywords in the ad copy; this then negatively effects your click-through rate. To get around this problem, Google created dynamic keyword insertion. This allows you to dynamically insert your keyword into your ad copy when a user’s search query contains that keyword. To use dynamic keyword insertion use the following syntax in your ad:

{KeyWord:Default Ad Text} acts as a place holder for your keyword. When your ad is triggered for a keyword in your Ad Group, {KeyWord:Default Ad Text} is replaced with your keyword. If your keyword exceeds the character limit, the Default Ad Text is used (you specify what the default ad text is).
For example, if you were using dynamic keyword insertion and somebody searched for DaVinci Code, {KeyWord: Default Ad Text} would be replaced with the keyword DaVinci Code as shown in this example:

Many new advertisers will create separate Ad Groups for each keyword, rather than use dynamic keyword insertion. This creates unneccessary Ad Groups, and also makes your account difficult to manage. For large groups of related keywords you should always use dynamic keyword insertion. Create Multiple Ads
Google allows you to create multiple ads for each Ad Group. This is a very powerful feature that allows you to simultaneously test different versions of your ad copy. By running multiple ads you can quickly determine which ad copy has the best click-through rate. You can also run tests to determine which ad copy results in more sales.

Negotiation Tips for a Buyer s Market

"It is not necessary to change. Survival is not mandatory." W. Edwards Deming

You should be used to it by now - the buyer's market has settled into his big, cushy, leather, easy chair and he's resting comfortably.

He's like the guest who just won't leave, so you have to learn to live with him for a while longer. And one of the best ways to do that is to sharpen your negotiation skills.

During the last five years of the hot seller's market, negotiation skills weren't quite as important as they are now. All you had to do was put the house on the market with a reasonable price and let the bidding begin.

Now things have changed. Today, we're seeing a more traditional market where buyers have their share of homes to choose from. So the negotiation game among sellers and buyers (and their respective agents) has reached a new level of importance.

Here are four tips to help you negotiate in a buyer's market.

1. Be informed. I can tell you without exception who always wins in a negotiation - the one who has the most information and uses it wisely. It's the one tool that's imperative in any negotiation. Information leads to the right price for a property, it puts details in perspective, it lessens tensions and it keeps emotions in check.

There's no excuse for not knowing average days on market, list to sell-price ratios, home amenities and all the other basics, but it also helps to know, for example, a buyer's motivations (are they moving with a job, do they like the school district, etc.).

2. Don't lower your commissions. This is a key point, because in a buyer's market, many REALTORS® automatically put their commissions on the auctioning block. But if you lower your commission to get a seller's business, what does that really say to the seller? That you're easily willing to come down on price - not what a seller wants!

Instead, demonstrate your value of past transactions and show that you delivered a better price for the homes you've sold. You may be asking for a higher commission, but the price you get for the seller more than makes up for it. You have to prove your value to get the full commission you deserve as a professional.
And revisit and adjust your listing presentation to illustrate to the potential client that you understand the nuances of a buyer's market.

3. Handle offers with care. Never flat out reject an offer. Sure, you'll get offers that you simply will not accept (and that you might even find insulting), but be careful and tactful with how you respond to those offers. You've done your homework to arrive at the asking price, so explain that to those who make offers instead of a flat rejection.

And adopt a sense of urgency with offers. I've seen some REALTORS leave offers on the table for a week or longer before responding. It's not professional and it's not in the best interest of your client.

4. Keep a positive "this will work" attitude. Consider how comfortable you'd be on the operating table with a surgeon who's sending out vibes that things might not pan out. Focus on solutions and persist without exception. There really is a solution to every problem.

Effective negotiation requires focus, concentration and skill. When it's done right, everyone feels they're walking away a winner! This is such an important topic that I've posted even more information on how to improve your negotiation skills on my web site. I highly encourage you to take advantage of it. Best of luck to you.

Successful Small Business Entrepreneur Characteristics

Recently, I had the opportunity to have an engaging conversation with a successful Business Success Coach. During her many consultations with small business owners and their companies, she realized that it was possible to tell who the successful leaders would be, based on common personality traits that are exhibited in the workplace. She came up with Titles which exemplify these 3 simple characteristics, which she referred to as: 'The Nature of a Successful Entrepreneur'.

A. The Technician. This is the type of person who loves to be active, often falling in love simply with the process of doing. Technicians are people who handle the details of the job, the gears that make the clock work.

B. The Strategist exemplifies the type people who have great oversight of what is going on with in a business. Typically they do the planning, figure out the 'how' of doing things. These people take pleasure in making sure all the steps are in place, that everything fits properly, and that everything gets done.

C. The Visionary has the innate ability to look at the overall picture, the long view. The visionary gives you the passion, the fuel, and the drive to keep going. He or She can see problems others can't, and usually become enamored with the creation process.

Each of us has these three personalities within us to varying degrees, but one characteristic tends to dominate our personality. For instance, a successful entrepreneur exhibits characteristics of The Visionary at least 50% of the time. But too much envisioning can be a hindrance. For example, The Visionary often has a hard time coming up with the plan and has an even tougher time executing minute details. That's why it's important for successful small business people to also have strong characteristics of The Technician, and The Strategist. Of course, both of these personalities also contain inherent flaws. When it comes to entrepreneurial success, The Strategist and The Technician personalities either get too lost in the details or lose sight of the overall objective. A successful organization must have a 'Visionary' at the helm to keep the others motivated and on track, but more importantly, to keep the big picture at the forefront of thought, so the direction of the company is always on target.

If you don't think you are a 'Visionary', that doesn't mean you can't become one. You can always develop and enhance your visionary characteristics. In my own life, I've become aware of my tendency to migrate through three phases. I've given them different names.

a. The Creative Phase. This is when my creative energies are bursting, and the way to increase it is to LET IT FLOW. Write, philosophize, come up with new ideas. You'll feel driven and motivated. (The Visionary)

b. The Productive Phase. Have you ever just felt like doing tasks? I know I'm in this phase when I really don't care about sitting and thinking, I just want to get a job done. You might notice you're doing tasks that require little in the way of creative thought, but more work and time. That's how you know you're in a Productive Phase.(The Technician)

c. The Organizational Phase. I usually fall into this phase just after a solid production phase. I spend time cleaning up, organizing files, planning a new strategy - organizing my time and my life. (The Strategist)

I've seen myself go through these three phases repeatedly over the years, each lasting 1 to 2 weeks each. And it's very helpful to recognize which phase you're in so you can take best advantage of it, and not become frustrated when you can't, for example, be creative in your productive phase. I've recently learned how to stay in the creative phase longer. The next time you consciously find yourself in a Creative Phase, try to focus on the following:

1. Who you are
2. Where you want to go. In other words, your overall goals and mission
3. Doing what you are ideally suited to do, or finding out what you believe you are ideally suited to do.

These are big picture questions, which are what the Visionary focuses on. One thing that can really help you stay focused is to not only think about these 3 topics, but to pull out a pen and just start writing about them. You might not think it, but once you start writing, you'll be able to write a little more, and a little more, and a little more. And all this while you're focusing on big picture questions thus increasing your creativity! As I've pulled all my various projects into one common focus, I've noticed an increase in the time I spend in the creative phase.

In summary, to be successful in your own business or as an entrepreneur, you need to spend at least 50% of your time in the creative, visionary phase. In order to do this,

I. Work with your gifts. Focus on what you are truly suited to do best. This makes you happy, which keeps you motivated, which feeds your ability to be motivated, have passion, and stay driven.

II. Delegate or eliminate aspects of your work that that you don't like or don't do well. That isn't to say that you should never try to improve on something you don't think you do well. It just means that there are things you could do, but you don't enjoy it, you don't need to do it, and you could spend your time more productively doing something else.

III. Create an overall mission or focus for your life and your work and live in harmony with it. How can you be happy, and be a positive influence on others if you never think about and plan or think about doing the things in your life that you want to do?

Don't be frustrated if you're not the Visionary type, or if you don't want to be the Visionary type. Every successful small business must have a good strategist to figure out how to accomplish what the visionary dreams up. And every organization needs good technical people to do the tasks outlined by the strategists. No matter what your personality, though, you'll be happiest when you do what you are ideally suited to do.

Advertise Free and Effectively

Have you joined a business opportunity but don't have the funds to place online ads? Well, the truth is, you don't need money to advertise. Don't get me wrong, using paid advertising is good and will bring results, but when you don't got it you don't got it.

My first recommendation to gaining free exposure to your website is participating in online forums and message forums. I own 4 message forums myself and use them to my maximum benefit. They are fun and they are a good way to get your name out there. If you haven't used forums before you are surely missing out on traffic to your websites. Most forums, not all, allow you to use a signature file at the end of your posts. So the more posts you make, the more times your link will be shown. I don't recommend going out to forums and making unwanted posts though. Join forums that you have interest in and submit posts that have value and meaning. If you are on a forum and see a question that you know the answer to, be sure to make that post and submit your answer. The person that posted the original post is most likely going to read your response and visit your link. This goes the same with readers reading the post and responses.

Do you send email? Are you using your signature file? Make sure you are using a signature file with all emails that you send no matter if it is personal or business. You just never know who will see your email, especially if you are the type of person that sends and forwards jokes to everyone in your address book.

Have your own domain or website? Be sure you are participating in link exchanges. Each link exchange is a link back to your site. If you have joined a business opportunity and cannot add links to your site, create another site that you can use as your reciprocal linking page.

Create a blog on a free blogging service such as Blogger and begin posting about your business. You could post your sales and specials. You could also create product reviews on your blog and allow others to comment. Blogs are known to be indexed fairly fast with the spidered search engines to post to your blog often.

Host an online chat or chats and teach others how they can work from home. There are plenty of places and forums you can post your free online events. Even if you host a party and nobody buys anything, make sure you get your guests info so you can email them later.

There are definitely more then enough ways you can advertise and get your name out there free. Once you get your name out there you can then advance from the free methods to the paid advertisements such as magazine ads, newsletter ads, etc.

Blogging For Sales

Whether you are an affiliate marketer, or have a website or an online store, blogs can be a fantastic way to draw traffic and people interested in your product. Blogs that are updated on a regular basis with informative content are spidered by the search engines more frequently. If the search engines like the content on your blog, your page rank will increase. As your page rank increases, the likelihood of your site being at the top of the search results also increase. The higher you are listed in the search engines, the easier your site or blog easier to find which means more traffic.

The search engines spiders love new, unique and informative content. If your site is updated regularly, the site will be visited more often by the search engine spiders. Sites that have content that is informative and full of pertinent information will obtain a higher position in the search engine results and these sites are usually indexed much faster. Since blogs are content driven, the search engines will send more traffic to them. This traffic can produce more sales and sales produce greater profits.

One of the great things about a blog is that it is very easy to use. There is no more converting text to HTML and no more uploading to a server. With a blog, you can post new content with a few clicks of your mouse. If you can cut and paste, you can blog. This makes it easy to keep your content new and fresh for the search engine spiders to enjoy. What's more, there are a lot of blogging sites on the internet that are free. You can't beat free traffic being driven to your blog or website.

To keep your content unique and fresh, you can write your own articles, write reviews on affiliate products or programs, or you can use outsourced content. Which ever you decide to use, make sure it is high quality and informative. By regularly adding new content to your blog that is unique and informative, you make your site far more "sticky" increasing the likelihood of it being visited by return visitors. That return traffic means more potential sales for you.

There are many ways you can use your blog. You can use your blog to direct traffic to a website or an online store. You can even direct your visitor to an eBay auction or eBay store. You can have your visitor sign up for email announcements of when you add new content to your blog. If you are an affiliate, you can also have them sign up for announcements of new products that they might be interested in.

Always keep your content in mind. They say content in king, but unique and informative content is KING.

Neat Stuff About Business Credit Cards

Business credit cards are usually meant for those that own small businesses, but you may want to think about getting one due to the large amount of excellent offers and programs available that would benefit you. Often you can get cards with an excellent interest rate, good balance transfer possibilities, nice rewards, zero introductory interest rates, and other nice options. You can also often get discounted travel, cheaper car rental, free or low cost travel insurance, frequent flyer miles, and evern save a few bucks on discounts with some places to eat.

Many business credit cards can give you high credit limits while regularly offering low interest rates. Be aware that good credit history is pretty much going to be expected. The credit card companies that offer these business credit cards offer all of these great deals and options becuase most of the time business owners spend much more and retain higher balances. More money in the card issuer's pocket, of course.

These cards work out well for small or big spending. It could be costly furniture or measly supplies for your office. Who needs petty cash with these cards? Also, there are those unforseen suprises that can come up where access to a lot of money can be very helpful. The high limits on these cards would be nice at such a time.

It is common for these cards to list all of your spending in reports either annually or sometimes even quarterly. This is usually free too. Now you have an easier job during tax time for making sure you have your tax write offs in an easy to read format. We wouldn't want to forget any write offs now, would we?

The fact is that business credit card companies like to do business with others in business for themselves. You'll find your customer services issues are handled better. There's a lot of money in it for the card issuer so whoever you get on the end of a customer service line are often quite helpful.

More than one person can be added as a qualified user of the card. In many cases it is possible for a large number of cards with different account numbers to be issued to whatever number of employees you might have. Now keeping track of expeditures is more neat and tidy.

This also makes anyone who isn't using the card in a way not quite in line with the intended way to be discovered and corrected quickly and easily. You can get rid of that account number with a simple call if needed, and it will not affect the main account. You can still be accountable for the charges, so you may want to possibly consider pre paid cards instead. Now your liability is much more limited.

Now if you have customers that don't always pay in a timely manner, these cards can be useful in evening out times of poor cash flow. When your paid invoices come in you can take care of the card.

Pretty much all major financial companies offer good business credit card deals. Some even have a large array of programs for you to choose from. You can get debit cards and even platinum cards with the same rates and no pesky yearly charge. Here's the nice part which is good for you; usually anyone can be a business owner. Many times you don't need to offer any proof like some kind of a license. Check around on web sites and see their terms and conditions, you may be suprised.

You can get business credit cards online pretty easily. If you do actually own a business and are probably therefore busy, it is convenient.

Google Adsense and the Power of Duplication

So you get online, set up a Google Adsense website and watch the dollars roll in? Wrong! The top earners in the Google Adsense field are earning the big, big money by duplicating the process over and over.

A friend of mine saw the Google Adsense ads on my site a few days ago and was querying if that was how I made my money. He couldn't understand how these small ads could amount to a full-time online income and the fact is that they DO NOT, well not in isolation anyway.

Before we get into the nitty gritty, the truth is that at this point in time I am not making a great amount with Google Adsense but that is about to change because I am absolutely aware of and convinced in the power of DUPLICATION.

I am an affiliate marketer, I promote numerous affiliate programs throughout the Internet Marketing Niche. Some make me a few dollars per month and some a few hundred in residual income. I also sell affiliate products through Google Adwords and am duplicating this process across multiple markets. I'll not mention some of the niches here for obvious reasons:-). The point is that if I didn't duplicate what I know to work across many different programs and service I would still be pen pushing in my former offline 9-5 job.

Even this article is one of countless others. The power comes from consistently doing the things that work over and over and over again.

Getting back to Adsense, what I realise is that everyone I speak to about it ARE NOT setting up unique sites and then settling for this income. They are setting up 100s, sometimes even 1000s of sites. Then when certain markets prove more profitable than others, as they most certainly will, the smart people are building great networks of smaller sites around these niches AND linking them all together.

Can you see the power of duplication at work here?

The point of building many sites is that sooner or later you are going to hit the mark. It doesn't cost much to set up a domain and have it hosted. Plus there is software available that will literally create 100s of blogs in minutes from your top keywords.

The "clued in" internet marketers making the moola are those that have taken action in the above way. I myself am guilty at times of looking at a plan and just not having the power to take it through to the end. This I believe is what happens to many when they even comtemplate creating 100s of sites.

The sad fact is that if you don't get of your backside and at least create one site then you are NEVER going to make Internet Marketing your full-time career.

Rome wasn't built in a day and neither will your Google Adsense Empire.

Coca-Cola: The Power of a Brand

Coca Cola brandThere are few images as recognizable throughout the world as the Coca-Cola brand. Travel to the furthest reaches of the globe and you will probably encounter it on a clock or a sign, if not on the drink itself. Marketers today look to the Coca-Cola brand as a model of marketing power. Its image has transcended national borders and cultural barriers to reach almost everyone on earth. How did the Coca-Cola symbol become such an omnipresent image?

Beginning in 1886, Coca-Cola president John Pemberton began traveling the country introducing pharmacists to the drink. At that time it was considered a medicinal substance that could relieve headaches and other minor woes. Candler distributed clocks, calendars and other items laden with the Coca-Cola logo as he toured the country, spreading the brand and selling his product.

From there the brand continued to penetrate further around the world. The bottling rights to Coca-Cola were sold in 1899 and in 1915 the Root family submitted a standard size bottle for distribution, but it was too fat in the middle. The Coca-Cola Company liked the bottle so much they thinned it down and has been used ever since and is called a Hobbleskirt Bottle. By 1920, with new bottlers springing up all the time, the brand had expanded into Cuba, France, Puerto Rico and other territories. Its world dominance would increase further with World War II, when Coca-Cola promised that "every man in uniform gets a bottle of Coca-Cola for 5 cents, wherever he is, and whatever it costs the company." Suddenly Coca-Cola could be found throughout Europe as American GIs carried it with them, and by 1960 the number of countries with Coke bottling plants had doubled.

Today Coke remains a powerful brand with over a century of history behind it. As a result, items featuring previous incarnations of the Coke image have become classic pieces of Americana. The success of the Coca-Cola brand has made it an icon not just in the world of brand marketing but of American history. It symbolizes the popularity of a soft drink as well as the dominance of American entrepreneurialism in the twentieth century and beyond.

Obama Inaguration Speech

Here is the full Speech of Barack Obama on Inaguration or as the first time to be American President.

I stand here today humbled by the task before us, grateful for the trust you have bestowed, mindful of the sacrifices borne by our ancestors. I thank President Bush for his service to our nation, as well as the generosity and cooperation he has shown throughout this transition.

Forty-four Americans have now taken the presidential oath. The words have been spoken during rising tides of prosperity and the still waters of peace. Yet, every so often the oath is taken amidst gathering clouds and raging storms. At these moments, America has carried on not simply because of the skill or vision of those in high office, but because We the People have remained faithful to the ideals of our forbearers, and true to our founding documents.

So it has been. So it must be with this generation of Americans.

That we are in the midst of crisis is now well understood. Our nation is at war, against a far-reaching network of violence and hatred. Our economy is badly weakened, a consequence of greed and irresponsibility on the part of some, but also our collective failure to make hard choices and prepare the nation for a new age. Homes have been lost; jobs shed; businesses shuttered. Our health care is too costly; our schools fail too many; and each day brings further evidence that the ways we use energy strengthen our adversaries and threaten our planet.

These are the indicators of crisis, subject to data and statistics. Less measurable but no less profound is a sapping of confidence across our land — a nagging fear that America's decline is inevitable, and that the next generation must lower its sights.

Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this, America — they will be met.

On this day, we gather because we have chosen hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflict and discord.

On this day, we come to proclaim an end to the petty grievances and false promises, the recriminations and worn out dogmas, that for far too long have strangled our politics.

We remain a young nation, but in the words of Scripture, the time has come to set aside childish things. The time has come to reaffirm our enduring spirit; to choose our better history; to carry forward that precious gift, that noble idea, passed on from generation to generation: the God-given promise that all are equal, all are free, and all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness.

In reaffirming the greatness of our nation, we understand that greatness is never a given. It must be earned. Our journey has never been one of short-cuts or settling for less. It has not been the path for the faint-hearted — for those who prefer leisure over work, or seek only the pleasures of riches and fame. Rather, it has been the risk-takers, the doers, the makers of things — some celebrated but more often men and women obscure in their labor, who have carried us up the long, rugged path towards prosperity and freedom.

For us, they packed up their few worldly possessions and traveled across oceans in search of a new life.

For us, they toiled in sweatshops and settled the West; endured the lash of the whip and plowed the hard earth.

For us, they fought and died, in places like Concord and Gettysburg; Normandy and Khe Sahn.

Time and again these men and women struggled and sacrificed and worked till their hands were raw so that we might live a better life. They saw America as bigger than the sum of our individual ambitions; greater than all the differences of birth or wealth or faction.

This is the journey we continue today. We remain the most prosperous, powerful nation on Earth. Our workers are no less productive than when this crisis began. Our minds are no less inventive, our goods and services no less needed than they were last week or last month or last year. Our capacity remains undiminished. But our time of standing pat, of protecting narrow interests and putting off unpleasant decisions — that time has surely passed. Starting today, we must pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and begin again the work of remaking America.

For everywhere we look, there is work to be done. The state of the economy calls for action, bold and swift, and we will act — not only to create new jobs, but to lay a new foundation for growth. We will build the roads and bridges, the electric grids and digital lines that feed our commerce and bind us together. We will restore science to its rightful place, and wield technology's wonders to raise health care's quality and lower its cost. We will harness the sun and the winds and the soil to fuel our cars and run our factories. And we will transform our schools and colleges and universities to meet the demands of a new age. All this we can do. All this we will do.

Now, there are some who question the scale of our ambitions — who suggest that our system cannot tolerate too many big plans. Their memories are short. For they have forgotten what this country has already done; what free men and women can achieve when imagination is joined to common purpose, and necessity to courage.
What the cynics fail to understand is that the ground has shifted beneath them— that the stale political arguments that have consumed us for so long no longer apply. The question we ask today is not whether our government is too big or too small, but whether it works — whether it helps families find jobs at a decent wage, care they can afford, a retirement that is dignified. Where the answer is yes, we intend to move forward. Where the answer is no, programs will end. And those of us who manage the public's dollars will be held to account — to spend wisely, reform bad habits, and do our business in the light of day — because only then can we restore the vital trust between a people and their government.

Nor is the question before us whether the market is a force for good or ill. Its power to generate wealth and expand freedom is unmatched, but this crisis has reminded us that without a watchful eye, the market can spin out of control — and that a nation cannot prosper long when it favors only the prosperous. The success of our economy has always depended not just on the size of our Gross Domestic Product, but on the reach of our prosperity; on the ability to extend opportunity to every willing heart — not out of charity, but because it is the surest route to our common good.

As for our common defense, we reject as false the choice between our safety and our ideals. Our Founding Fathers, faced with perils we can scarcely imagine, drafted a charter to assure the rule of law and the rights of man, a charter expanded by the blood of generations. Those ideals still light the world, and we will not give them up for expedience's sake. And so to all other peoples and governments who are watching today, from the grandest capitals to the small village where my father was born: know that America is a friend of each nation and every man, woman, and child who seeks a future of peace and dignity, and we are ready to lead once more.

Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism and communism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.

We are the keepers of this legacy. Guided by these principles once more, we can meet those new threats that demand even greater effort — even greater cooperation and understanding between nations. We will begin to responsibly leave Iraq to its people, and forge a hard-earned peace in Afghanistan. With old friends and former foes, we will work tirelessly to lessen the nuclear threat, and roll back the specter of a warming planet. We will not apologize for our way of life, nor will we waver in its defense, and for those who seek to advance their aims by inducing terror and slaughtering innocents, we say to you now that our spirit is stronger and cannot be broken; you cannot outlast us, and we will defeat you.

For we know that our patchwork heritage is a strength, not a weakness. We are a nation of Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus — and non-believers. We are shaped by every language and culture, drawn from every end of this Earth; and because we have tasted the bitter swill of civil war and segregation, and emerged from that dark chapter stronger and more united, we cannot help but believe that the old hatreds shall someday pass; that the lines of tribe shall soon dissolve; that as the world grows smaller, our common humanity shall reveal itself; and that America must play its role in ushering in a new era of peace.

To the Muslim world, we seek a new way forward, based on mutual interest and mutual respect. To those leaders around the globe who seek to sow conflict, or blame their society's ills on the West — know that your people will judge you on what you can build, not what you destroy. To those who cling to power through corruption and deceit and the silencing of dissent, know that you are on the wrong side of history; but that we will extend a hand if you are willing to unclench your fist.

To the people of poor nations, we pledge to work alongside you to make your farms flourish and let clean waters flow; to nourish starved bodies and feed hungry minds. And to those nations like ours that enjoy relative plenty, we say we can no longer afford indifference to suffering outside our borders; nor can we consume the world's resources without regard to effect. For the world has changed, and we must change with it.

As we consider the road that unfolds before us, we remember with humble gratitude those brave Americans who, at this very hour, patrol far-off deserts and distant mountains. They have something to tell us, just as the fallen heroes who lie in Arlington whisper through the ages. We honor them not only because they are guardians of our liberty, but because they embody the spirit of service; a willingness to find meaning in something greater than themselves. And yet, at this moment — a moment that will define a generation — it is precisely this spirit that must inhabit us all.

For as much as government can do and must do, it is ultimately the faith and determination of the American people upon which this nation relies. It is the kindness to take in a stranger when the levees break, the selflessness of workers who would rather cut their hours than see a friend lose their job which sees us through our darkest hours. It is the firefighter's courage to storm a stairway filled with smoke, but also a parent's willingness to nurture a child, that finally decides our fate.

Our challenges may be new. The instruments with which we meet them may be new. But those values upon which our success depends — honesty and hard work, courage and fair play, tolerance and curiosity, loyalty and patriotism — these things are old. These things are true. They have been the quiet force of progress throughout our history. What is demanded then is a return to these truths. What is required of us now is a new era of responsibility — a recognition, on the part of every American, that we have duties to ourselves, our nation, and the world, duties that we do not grudgingly accept but rather seize gladly, firm in the knowledge that there is nothing so satisfying to the spirit, so defining of our character, than giving our all to a difficult task.

This is the price and the promise of citizenship.

This is the source of our confidence— the knowledge that God calls on us to shape an uncertain destiny.

This is the meaning of our liberty and our creed — why men and women and children of every race and every faith can join in celebration across this magnificent mall, and why a man whose father less than sixty years ago might not have been served at a local restaurant can now stand before you to take a most sacred oath.

So let us mark this day with remembrance, of who we are and how far we have traveled. In the year of America's birth, in the coldest of months, a small band of patriots huddled by dying campfires on the shores of an icy river. The capital was abandoned. The enemy was advancing. The snow was stained with blood. At a moment when the outcome of our revolution was most in doubt, the father of our nation ordered these words be read to the people:

"Let it be told to the future world...that in the depth of winter, when nothing but hope and virtue could survive ... that the city and the country, alarmed at one common danger, came forth to meet [it]."
America. In the face of our common dangers, in this winter of our hardship, let us remember these timeless words. With hope and virtue, let us brave once more the icy currents, and endure what storms may come. Let it be said by our children's children that when we were tested we refused to let this journey end, that we did not turn back nor did we falter; and with eyes fixed on the horizon and God's grace upon us, we carried forth that great gift of freedom and delivered it safely to future generations.

Thank you. God bless you. And God bless the United States of America.

How To Become a Successful Businessman

It is a question of conditionality. No one word answer can make a complete solution and it varies depends on each one. Any how, the simple short cut to become a successful business man is to adopt a winning business strategy. But, a good business strategy cannot become a winning formula, if the entrepreneur does not posses the basic business skills. Hence, evaluate yourself critically, before you leap into the business.

Business is an entrepreneurship, run by you. To run the business, you must have the attitude to win. Life is not a bed of roses, but, business is worse, it is full of thorns. The setbacks in the business are most unexpected. Hence, you must be mentally prepared to overcome the hassles that come in the journey. The lives of the famous business people show that these hardships were actually the motivating factor behind their success. Hence, the motto of successful business men must be 'failure is a stepping stone of success'.

Apart from the infrastructure, business is built up on the interpersonal relationships. You must be a good communicator, who can gain confidence of others. The communicational intelligence is the basis of the interpersonal relations and the building up of a good rapport between you and your employees, is essential to lay a strong business foundation. Also, be conscious while the selection of the employees since they are the back bone of the business. The success to attain the assurance of the employees is an indication of your success in the future.

More than all these factors, discipline is the most important quality that a business man has to posses. Discipline implies both self discipline and financial discipline. The past stories prove that the lack of the discipline is the triggering factor behind the failure of most of the establishments. Financial discipline is inevitable since business is the rolling of the money. The finance strategy is based on the mode of the business.

To start up the business, the basic idea must be attractive. In the world of globalization, the competition is high and a substantial idea can only withstand. As the freshness of the idea increases, the chance to succeed also increases. Any how, the idea must be practically viable. "Well begun is half done". You can seek the help of some consultancies to help you to plan well before you launch. In addition to a catchy idea, potential marketing strategies are also essential to succeed in the business. You must essentially know what the target customers require and also be thorough with the latest developments and trends in the field since customers are always seeking the latest.

Level of service and quality of your work will be the main deciding factors for your success in the business. The customers expect pleasing behavior from you and if you could succeed to satisfy them. But, it does not mean that you have to show unrestricted lenience. Efficient staff can assist you to grab the confidence of the customers. However, your direct supervision is inevitable to coordinate it. Keep in mind to look over every unit of the department since the perfect functioning of all the departments is equally important to mold your business.

To add on, the spirit to excel is the necessary prerequisite to become a successful business man. Wise people used to compare an upcoming business man to a spider. As you know, spider does not give up its job to make the net, till it succeeds. Like that the business man also has to work till he succeeds. Remember, no business empire was built in a day; you have to wait for a little time to establish. The perseverance to win will help you to become a successful businessman one day.

Saying says that 'Dream for the sky, then, at least a handful will be yours'. But, to become a successful businessman, your attitude must be to 'dream the sky and ensure that you are at sky'. Try and try, till you succeed.

Promotional Budget Setting

A number of methods of determining promotional expenditure are used in business. These include:

Arbitrary allocation. This is a common method that depends on the business executive's emotions, personality and affiliations. There is no relevancy between budget and objective.

Percentage of sales. This method allocates a proportion of sales or a fixed amount per unit sold to promotional expenditure. It assumes the past sales trend will continue into the future. It appears financially safe as incoming revenue determines expenditure. However, it does not take into account that promotion changes sales. It is suitable as a starting point for very stable markets.

Return on Investment (ROI). This method sees promotion expenditure as a capital investment (ie brand name as an asset). This is logically appealing to marketing and accounting people, but does not take customer into consideration.

Competitive parity. In this method a firm spends relative to the competition on available industry data. However, this only recognises one element of the environment and it does not include customers in the analysis. Furthermore, competitors are likely to have different objectives/strategies and past data is no judge of future strategy. This method is a useful starting point for very competitive markets.

All you can afford. In this method promotional expenditure is what is left over and depends on available funds. The problem with this approach is that it ignores the customer and the firm's own strategy.

Objectives and tasks. In this method a firm spells out and priorities the objectives realistically then determines what each will cost. As the objectives represent a firm's goals in a market place with customers this approach in necessarily market oriented.

The objectives task method is most closely aligned with the Marketing Concept. This method guarantees promotional accountability and leads to quarterly or semi-annual reports for future decisions and modifications. The method requires customer research to specify which tasks are necessary. The main problem is knowing how much to spend to achieve each objective. This is especially difficult for a firm entering a new market. The firm will need to experiment and conduct research, as well as store data on the impact of each promotional expenditure for future decision-making.

How to Choose Your Computer Networking Services

Finding the right computer networking services for your business doesn't have to be difficult. The first thing you need to determine is how much computer network support you need, and whether you need that kind of thing on staff. If you run a small business or a mom and pop business, the answer is likely no. In the United States, a small business has less than one hundred employees while a mom and pop business is either run within a single family or has no more than ten employees. The European standards are quite smaller. When you've got a small number of people working together to make your company happen, it is pretty unlikely that one, or any of them, will have time to take in our business IT support and be able to fully do the job they were hired to do and keep the IT end up.

Furthermore, you really don't want employees using their valuable time on a task that isn't their strong suit. If you hire someone to do customer relations, you really don't want to take away from their time doing so to fix your computer or phone system, because the time they spend doing that is time that your customers aren't getting. Now, it might not be an issue if it happens once, but if it happens continually, you'll eventually have unhappy customers and an unhappy employee who isn't able to do either job to their satisfaction. Don't think that you will be able to handle it, either. As the owner of a small business, many tasks will fall to you, and that is completely natural. Being responsible for keeping up the system that keeps your company dialed in to the rest of the world should not fall into your already overflowing hands.

The fact of the matter is that having a person physically present in the office and on your payroll to do IT and network support is not actually necessary. The majority of what needs doing can certainly be done remotely, and quite easily by those with the skills to do so. If and when your company has the size and staff to support an in-house need, you can consider it then. You may find, that even as a mid-sized company of four hundred, that you still choose to outsource that part of your business's needs. If and when you choose a company, look for one that will custom-tailor a package to fit the individual needs of your company.

Information needed about Paid Surveys

If you are looking for a way to earn a little extra cash without having to use much of your time, then online paid surveys just might be the answer for you. All it needs for you to start earning money is to have a computer or access to one, and a reliable Internet connection.

You will then need to enroll yourself in one of the many online survey sites there are on the Internet. The more you sign up for, the better. Just remember to look for sites that will not ask you for a registration or a membership fee. You want to stay away from those. Any legitimate company will not let you pay anything to join them. Another is that you find ones that will pay you cash upfront for the services you have done. Those that offer you chances to win prizes in exchange for some of your earnings are also bogus sites.

Once you have signed up, you can expect to receive a survey within two weeks. Some are lucky and get to have some sent within the hour. Just try not to be disappointed if it takes a while for you to receive a job. This is also one of the reasons why it is best to sign up with several sites. Since that survey forms do not entail that long to get done, you should not be worried if you are sent several within a few days. The important thing is to keep the ball rolling so you will have consistent jobs to do.

What are online paid surveys and who pays you to have them done?

These electronic survey forms are part of research data that belong to many large companies and corporations that need to seek answers for developing markets and products. By answering the survey form honestly and with the best of your knowledge, you are helping these companies save a huge amount of cost. The data you will render them will allow them to analyze and determine their position in the market as well as potential business they could make by understanding fully the market, trend, and viability when launching or developing an existing or upcoming product.

Earnings you can get by filling up these survey forms can fetch you a minimum of $300 a month, working only an hour a day. You can earn more than this if you invest more effort and time to it. So, you see, it is a nice way to save up a little money for something special or to just pay off some of the bills. Since it does not take much time to do it, then just consider it a part-time occupation that simply helps.

Considering this opportunity, where else can you find an easy job like this that pays a decent amount of money? Online survey sites have been around a while and will continue to exist. Since the population is readily expanding, there will always be new products and businesses out there that will need the services of surveying for them.

History of search engines

In the early days of Internet development, its users were a privileged minority and the amount of available information was relatively small. Access was mainly restricted to employees of various universities and laboratories who used it to access scientific information. In those days, the problem of finding information on the Internet was not nearly as critical as it is now. Site directories were one of the first methods used to facilitate access to information resources on the network. Links to these resources were grouped by topic. Yahoo was the first project of this kind opened in April 1994. As the number of sites in the Yahoo directory inexorably increased, the developers of Yahoo made the directory searchable. Of course, it was not a search engine in its true form because searching was limited to those resources who’s listings were put into the directory. It did not actively seek out resources and the concept of seo was yet to arrive. Such link directories have been used extensively in the past, but nowadays they have lost much of their popularity. The reason is simple – even modern directories with lots of resources only provide information on a tiny fraction of the Internet. For example, the largest directory on the network is currently DMOZ (or Open Directory Project). It contains information on about five million resources. Compare this with the Google search engine database containing more than eight billion documents. The WebCrawler project started in 1994 and was the first full-featured search engine. The Lycos and AltaVista search engines appeared in 1995 and for many years Alta Vista was the major player in this field. In 1997 Sergey Brin and Larry Page created Google as a research project at Stanford University. Google is now the most popular search engine in the world. Currently, there are three leading international search engines – Google, Yahoo and MSN Search. They each have their own databases and search algorithms. Many other search engines use results originating from these three major search engines and the same seo expertise can be applied to all of them. For example, the AOL search engine (search.aol.com) uses the Google database while AltaVista, Lycos and AllTheWeb all use the Yahoo database.

Common search engine principles

To understand seo you need to be aware of the architecture of search engines. They all contain the following main components:

Spider - a browser-like program that downloads web pages.
Crawler – a program that automatically follows all of the links on each web page.
Indexer - a program that analyzes web pages downloaded by the spider and the crawler.
Database– storage for downloaded and processed pages.
Results engine – extracts search results from the database.

Web server a server that is responsible for interaction between the user and other search engine components.

Specific implementations of search mechanisms may differ. For example, the Spider+Crawler+Indexer component group might be implemented as a single program that downloads web pages, analyzes them and then uses their links to find new resources. However, the components listed are inherent to all search engines and the seo principles are the same.

Spider.
This program downloads web pages just like a web browser. The difference is that a browser displays the information presented on each page (text, graphics, etc.) while a spider does not have any visual components and works directly with the underlying HTML code of the page. You may already know that there is an option in standard web browsers to view source HTML code.

Crawler.
This program finds all links on each page. Its task is to determine where the spider should go either by evaluating the links or according to a predefined list of addresses. The crawler follows these links and tries to find documents not already known to the search engine.

Indexer.
This component parses each page and analyzes the various elements, such as text, headers, structural or stylistic features, special HTML tags, etc.

Database.
This is the storage area for the data that the search engine downloads and analyzes. Sometimes it is called the index of the search engine.

Results Engine.
The results engine ranks pages. It determines which pages best match a user's query and in what order the pages should be listed. This is done according to the ranking algorithms of the search engine.
It follows that page rank is a valuable and interesting property and any seo specialist is most interested in it when trying to improve his site search results. In this article, we will discuss the seo factors that influence page rank in some detail.

Web server.
The search engine web server usually contains a HTML page with an input field where the user can specify the search query he or she is interested in. The web server is also responsible for displaying search results to the user in the form of an HTML page.

The Art of SEO

As much as Google "pretends" to like SEOs by inviting us to parties at the Googleplex and posting on SEO forums, the bottom line is that they don’t like us — or rather, they don’t like what we do. Google wants to find the best, most relevant sites for the search query at hand all by themselves. Perhaps someday they will actually be able to do that, but for now, they still need our help, whether they like it or not.

Unfortunately, unscrupulous SEOs have given Google good reasons not to like us. Because of search engine spammers, Google is constantly changing their ranking criteria and is always on the lookout for the telltale signs of SEO on any given site. It’s not a huge stretch to say that they may even downgrade the sites that they believe have been SEO’d.

If you think that having your keyword phrases “in all the right places for SEO” is a good thing, think again! You’re essentially telling Google, “Hey look…my site has been SEO’d!” To which they reply, “Thanks so much for letting us know… ZAP … see ya later!” Doesn’t matter if your site is the most relevant (in your mind) to the search query. Doesn’t matter that you’ve placed your keyword phrases strategically throughout the site.

Stuff that worked like a charm for many people in the early years of SEO may actually hurt rather than help now. As to what might trigger an SEO “red flag,” my guess is that it’s a combination of things. Like, if you have a certain number of traditional SEO factors on any given page, those may set off some Google warning bells (otherwise known as a spam filter).

Some of the traditional SEO formulaic elements that you may have been taught to use include putting the keyword phrase:

* in the domain name
* in the file name
* in the Title tag
* in the Meta description tag
* in the Meta keyword tag o in the image alt attributes
* in an H1 (or any H) tag
* as the first words on the page
* in bold and/or italics or a different color
* multiple times in the first paragraph or twice on the page
* in the copy in every single spot on the page where it might possibly make sense to use it, and
* in all the hyperlinks pointing to a page.

If you put the same keyword phrase in many of those spots, you might very well trigger a spam filter. Since it’s difficult to determine how many and which combinations of those things might trigger the filter, the best advice I can give you is to do your SEO without any particular formula in mind.

That’s how I’ve always done it and it’s always worked because every site is unique and has different SEO needs.

Unfortunately, it’s difficult to describe this type of SEO to others, as people are always looking for the magic formula. For as long as I’ve been doing SEO (over 12 years now), I’ve had it in the back of my mind that I wouldn’t want to tip off the engines that my sites were SEO’d. This is one of the reasons I’ve never used keyword-rich domain names or file names. That’s probably the most obvious SEO thing you can do.

The most important aspect to being a good SEO is creativity. You shouldn’t worry too much about the specifics of putting keyword phrases here and there, and again over there. Not every page needs an H1 heading with keyword phrases in it. If your page isn’t designed to use H1 headings, you don’t need to change it to use one just for SEO purposes. And many images don’t really and truly make sense with a keyword phrase in their alt attribute (alt tag). Don’t force one to be there just for the search engines.

Most importantly for Google (and for your users), when it comes to your page copy and how you use your visible keyword phrases, less is definitely more. Please don’t read my Nitty-gritty report and then put the same keyword phrase in every single available spot on your page that you can find. My report is supposed to help you think about a few places you may have missed because you weren’t thinking about being descriptive when you originally wrote the copy. You can definitely have too much of a good thing.

A first paragraph on a page that has, say, 4 sentences, should not have 10 instances of your keyword phrase. It will look and sound dumb. I know that I have stressed this in my conference presentations and in our High Rankings seminars, but no matter how many times I say this, people don’t quite grasp the importance of working this way. If your copy reads poorly to a human, and does not come across as natural professional copywriting, the search engines won’t like it either.

When you do SEO, you don’t follow a guidebook. Think like a search engineer and consider all the possible things they might have to combat both now and in the future. Always optimize for 3 or 4 or even up to 5 phrases, and spread them out throughout the entire page. Never, ever, ever think that it’s the first paragraph that matters and stuff ‘em all in there. There should be an equal distribution throughout the entire page, and you should never use the phrases so much that you hear them constantly when you read it.

If you’ve done it right, an everyday user should not have any idea that a page has been SEO’d. A trained SEO should be able to spot what your keyword phrases are, but it shouldn’t be glaringly obvious. Last, but not least, hire a professional copywriter to work on the important pages of your site. This is the best investment you can make for your site and your business. Even if you don’t want to hire an SEO, you absolutely MUST

hire a professional copywriter. You need someone who really and truly understands target audiences and how to speak to them about the benefits of what you offer. You can easily teach someone like that the SEO writing part.

Hope this helps to give you some ideas on how you might get out of formula-SEO mode and start doing more creative SEO. More than ever, SEO is much more of an art than a science. The science is only a small portion of it.
